ICE arrests man having a seizure while holding his baby
Disturbing footage from Fitchburg, Massachusetts, showed ICE officers surrounding a car as a man was convulsing while holding a baby during his wife’s arrest. Witnesses can be heard shouting that he is having a seizure as agents tried to violently pull him from the car. The footage quickly went viral, drawing widespread outrage online, but ICE dismissed the incident as "fake". The man, Carlos Sebastian Zapata, later told the Boston Globe that he lost consciousness out of fear his wife would be detained. "I wasn’t letting go of my wife because they wanted to take her away," Zapata said. He further stressed that ICE agents shoved him, struck his ribs, and pressed on his neck. ICE confirmed that the enforcement action was directed at Zapata’s wife, Juliana Milena Ojeda-Montoya, an Ecuadorian national who was arrested on Thursday.
