Israeli-Palestinian film, 'No Other Land,' wins Oscar, director Adra condemns 'Israel'
The documentary feature film "No Other Land," which exposes "Israel’s" displacement of Palestinians, won an Academy Award on Sunday. Its directors used the moment to call for global action to end the conflict and accused the United States of obstructing a resolution. Co-directed by Palestinian activist Basel Adra and Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham, the film took five years to produce, documenting Israeli soldiers demolishing Palestinian homes, forcibly removing Palestinian residents to establish a military training zone, and expanding settlements into Palestinian territory. The documentary highlighted the sharp contrast between two friends: Abraham, who moves freely with his Israeli yellow number plate, and Adra, restricted to an ever-shrinking space as is the reality of Palestinians living under the Israeli occupation.
