Israeli settlers stage protests demanding a captive deal, an end to war on Gaza
On Sunday, August 17, Israeli settlers staged mass demonstrations across several parts of the occupied Palestinian territories, including Tel Aviv and occupied Al-Quds, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and the return of captives. Protesters filled the streets of Tel Aviv, blocking major roads while waving flags and carrying banners that read: “Trump's legacy crumbles as the Gaza war persists,” “Seal the big deal. Bring them home,” “Never again is now,” and “Stop the war.” Families of Israeli captives also called for a strike across occupied Palestine, with events held at “Hostages Square” under the title “Day of Disruption.” Meanwhile, in occupied al-Quds, a smaller protest briefly set debris ablaze on a main road before authorities intervened and traffic resumed.
