Voices from Gaza: A mother's plea to the world
On Sunday, June 29, Palestinians in Khan Younis held a funeral for five members of the Maarouf family who were killed in an Israeli airstrike overnight on a tent camp near Mawasi. According to medics, several others were also injured in the attack. Among the victims were three siblings and their two cousins. For two years, Eman Abu Maarouf and her children have lived under constant fear in Gaza. There has been no ceasefire, no peace, and only the sound of bombs and the grief that follows. While her children were sleeping, the airstrike hit. The oldest is just 16. All of them were injured.
