Amid the Palestinian people dying in Gaza under Israeli bombardments and the famine provoked by the medieval siege imposed by the Zionist entity and the United States, one fact can no longer be hidden: Europe is not a passive spectator, but an active accomplice in the ongoing genocide.

Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Palestine, has denounced it bluntly: “Israel is the second largest per capita recipient of initial EU funding through the European Innovation Council. European institutions will have to answer for the innovations that have facilitated Israel’s assault on Gaza. This program must be stopped immediately” (X, 28 August 2025).

Here is why the Israeli occupation of Gaza won’t work

European Funds for Repression

The figures are devastating. Through the European Innovation Council (EIC), a body of the European Commission created to promote scientific and technological excellence, "Israel" receives millions of euros that directly fuel its industry of war and genocide.

Drone technologies, surveillance systems, and artificial intelligence programs applied to population control continue to receive European financial support. These are not “neutral innovations”: they are integral components of the genocidal machinery devastating Gaza.

Brussels’ Double Standard

The hypocrisy is obvious. When Russia invaded Ukraine, the EU suspended all scientific and technological cooperation, imposed sanctions, and politically isolated Moscow.

When "Israel' destroys Gaza and accumulates accusations of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide, with an international arrest warrant against Prime Minister Netanyahu issued by the International Criminal Court, Brussels maintains and strengthens its cooperation, transferring public funds that end up in Israeli military-industrial companies.

An intolerable double standard: in Ukraine, international law is invoked to sanction Russia; in Palestine, it is trampled to protect "Israel".

Palestine: A Laboratory of Repression and Weaponry

This is no coincidence. "Israel" has turned the Palestinian occupation into a permanent laboratory of repression and war.

Companies such as Elbit Systems or NSO Group promote their products under the label “tested in combat,” proven in operations against the Palestinian population. That experience, transformed into so-called “innovation,” is financed and legitimized by Brussels, which thus becomes a direct partner in barbarism.

The European Union does not finance science: it finances the application of science to repression.

A Moral and Political Urgency

Albanese’s warning is clear: this program must be stopped immediately.

This is not only a legal obligation, public funds cannot be used to fuel activities that contribute to international crimes, but also a political and moral issue. Every euro flowing from Brussels to Tel Aviv becomes active complicity in genocide.

The EU must choose:
• To break its financing and military cooperation with "Israel", regaining minimal credibility in its human rights discourse.
• Or to continue being complicit, exposing that “never again” was nothing but an empty slogan.

The genocide in Gaza cannot be understood without the political, diplomatic, and financial cover of "Israel’s" allies and sponsors. Francesca Albanese’s denunciation calls us to action: European complicity must end.

From the streets, the parliaments, and the media, we must demand the immediate suspension of EU funding to "Israel" and an end to Europe’s complicity in a crime against humanity.

Because history will judge us, and every euro invested in barbarism will remain as a memory of shame.

Not one euro more for genocide.
End European complicity with "Israel".
Palestine will prevail!
