I saw a woman today.
No. She was not a woman. She was a shadow in human shape, curled in the ruins of a kitchen that no longer existed, feeding her infant an empty spoon. Over and over.
"Eat," she whispered, as if mercy could be faked long enough to save him. And the child obeyed. Because hunger makes gods of mothers, even when they have nothing left to give but lies. This is not famine. This is theology. This is where faith is tried like meat over flame; slowly, until it screams.
In Gaza, children are not raised. They are rationed. Born between airstrikes, raised under sanctions, educated in silence. Here, death is no longer a tragedy. It is a statistic. It does not come like a thief in the night. It comes like the postman; regularly, predictably, professionally.
They send trucks. Not enough. Never enough.
Yes, the starvation is by design. Not just to kill, but to unmake.
If a single child must die for your silence, if one infant must be buried beneath rubble so that your country may have good diplomatic standing, then I say: Return your progress. Return your civilization. Return your peace. I do not want it. You say, "This is war." No. War ends. This is eternal. This is the organized execution of hope. [1]
When we write, editors will note –Can this be shortened? Synopsized? Hyperlinked? Should we make it a footnote? An adherence to word count, and increasingly often (rather, decades on – and, twenty+ months and counting), an obedience to the manufacturing of consent, of silence. The day will arrive – soon – and by rocket, dinner spoon, bolt cutter, expo marker – where we, all, will believe the Palestinian truth tellers; the journalists we’ve concertedly blacked out, talked over, mistranslated, sniped. We know, one day, everyone will have always been against this.
As the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) planned its launch, I envisioned following the money-and-PR trail in this constellation of corruption; empty offices in Delaware, compounding violations, and a laundry list of military men-now-realtors aiding and abetting the destruction of Palestine and its people. But what we’ve witnessed these weeks is a new low of utter barbarity, perpetrated by the IOF and its co-conspirators. Dr. Ezzideen Shehab’s poetry is documentation of this villanousness and testimony of crimes against (whatever’s left of) humanity.
When I wrapped writing the first installment of this series, it was already many hours into the United Nations Chief Tom Fletcher’s warning: ‘14,000 babies could die within 48 hours…’ – and our friends re-reposted that infographic as their Daily Activism. What’s come of those children? How many weeks pass at risk of famine? Who gets to calculate, commodify this risk? Nearly one month on since that circulation, nearly four months since the near-totalizing closure of all Gaza… it is forced starvation that supersedes the phrase; this is for-profit mass slaughter, masquerading as humanitarianism.
It’s proving difficult to tally the death toll[2] at the GHF distribution sites (or, as Sharif Kouddous writes, the total killed in aid massacres (a new common term in the genocide lexicon), as more than 200 Palestinians have been gunned down, trampled, bombed – not only at the immediate aid locations, but en route to/from the promise of anything, anything. Tarq Hajjaj explains:
This pattern of committing massacres and subsequently denying them has led both locals and the Gaza Government Media office to describe the U.S. aid centers as traps set up to kill hungry families, asserting that scant food shipments are being used as bait.
The Government Media Office said… that "the so-called ‘aid’ distribution centers are established in dangerous red zones under the control of the occupation army," where civilians are then "lured" and deliberately targeted.
The chaos sowed by American mercenaries – operating as GHF but also UG Solutions, Safe Reach Solutions and "The Boston Consulting Group… working alongside former US intelligence and defense officials and private entrepreneurs, and in close consultation with Israel,"[3] largely aligning with telecommunications blackouts across Gaza (most recently restored on June 14, 2025) intentionally obscure the carnage:
This idea that the Israeli military isn't involved is bull****. They're very much involved. They have offices in our compounds. We share our radio communications with them. The higher-ups claim the Israeli military is not involved, but it feels like they’re the man behind the curtain. Sure, they’re not on-site with us, but their snipers and tanks are just hundreds of meters away. You can hear them shooting all day.[4]
Perhaps what’s slipped through the cracks for some, as the whiplash-inducing news cycles of the IOF’s belligerent bombings of Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, and Syria expand its genocidal aims… as activists are kidnapped in international waters… as total lockdown across the West Bank fortifies the bantustanization of Palestinians and their land – amongst all of this, GHF’s Executive Director, Jake Wood, who resigned just ahead of GHF’s "launch" was replaced by Johnnie Moore.
As I penned in the second part of this series, GHF had virtually zero digital footprint, despite US State Department spokesperson’s unintelligible rambles asserting otherwise. Only in recent weeks has the group launched a preposterously vacuous "in-progress" homepage (ghf.org) which helps us begin to understand Moore’s appointment.
Critical aid and support to the people of Gaza – only translatable as this is yet another way we will annihilate you. Johnnie Moore is an Evangelical leader who began his career as Senior Vice President for Communications for Liberty University – the private Evangelical school founded by Jerry Falwell Sr.[5] and went on to found the Kairo Company, a public relations firm based in Glendale, California. The group insists: We get the job done…Whatever it takes.If we’re harping on words, a pause for Kairos’ stated approach:
At once panoptic and predatory, it shouldn’t surprise us that GHF is doubling down on messaging that absolves them of any responsibility for these aid massacres. Likely, Moore was already on deck well before GHF founder/executive director Jake Wood resigned on May 26, 2025, and assuredly – as GHF is in close coordination with COGAT and the IOF, he was a welcome appointment.[6] Moore’s meddling in pseudo-diplomacy begs elaboration (including his priorities as co-chairman of the 2016 Trump presidential campaign’s evangelical advisory board, as well as his role in the Bahrain Declaration on Religious Tolerance, his meetings with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in 2018-2019 and his relationship with Azerbaijan’s president Ilham Aliyev), but in this instance, it feels urgent to underscore Moore’s support for/collusion with US Ambassador to "Israel" Mike Huckabee.
Moore – whose twitter proves a treasure trove of connections in this compendium of corruption and the theft of Palestine by many names – circulates hasbara from ‘Israeli’ venture capitalists (which also includes the Witkoff team), Fox News and Breitbart, pastors-as-politicians and other nefarious financiers beating the Forever War (drum) while insisting the GHF is following (literally uncharted) protocol. In a sermon-as-tweet, or rather, a linguistic lynching:
…The principle of impartiality does not mean neutrality. There is good and evil in this world. What we are doing is good and what Hamas did to these Gazans is absolute evil. We grieve, we extend all our love and prayers to these dear people, and we must & will press on because Gazans deserve to be fed. We will do it for them. I am sorry it has come to this but again we extend our hand to UN, the WFP, the ICRC, the EU, the GCC, and the world — join us. We can do this together. Or for God’s sake, for the sake of humanity, if you’re not going to join us at least have the courage to boycott HAMAS, not us. While GHF is not a religious organization, I am a religious Christian and I especially draw on my faith in moments like these. I can’t get these words, written by the Apostle Paul, to the Christians being brutally tortured by the Roman Empire two thousand years ago: "Soon the God of peace will crush Satan underneath our feet" Romans 16:20[7]

Am I the mad one here, to posit: an army of capitalist crooks (many wearing masks of Christianity or ‘peace-negotiator’, but ultimately serving only shareholders’ interests), as coordinated with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar (greased by the jets and munitions from the US, UK, France and Germany) have organized this moment of catastrophe to complete the Zionist settler colonial agenda of genociding the entirety of Palestine? To be redeveloped in the interests of transnational corporate sprawl, equity stakes and IPOs? Does this not echo Trump’s 2019-2020 "Peace to Prosperity Plan," when Gaza is framed as a "problem," necessitating "the full demilitarization of Gaza, and a governance structure that allows the international community to safely and comfortably put new money into investments that will not be destroyed by predictable future conflicts"?
We can and must insist on amplifying these through-lines of generational dehumanization used to justify violent displacement, dispossession… that justify genocide. All ‘formal’ press releases Johnnie Moore shares on behalf of GHF reinforce the disastrously false narrative that these aid massacres are perpetrated by Hamas, not GHF staffers… certainly not by Yasser Abu Shabab’s nor the IOF/COGAT’s orchestration. If the group says data for their "aid" includes "real-time monitoring and beneficiary feedback loop into public dashboards so every dollar is traceable and every outcome verifiable," why would we not demand every single donor, every single stakeholder, every single injury caused (directly and indirectly) by this scheme be fully detailed? The Center for Constitutional Rights wrote a notice to Johnnie Moore on June 10, 2025, detailing the "risk of legal liability for complicity in international law violations" that included:
GHF has been on notice that there exists credible and substantiated allegations that war crimes, crimes against humanity, and breaches of the Genocide Convention – all violations of jus cogens norms – are being committed by "Israel" against the Palestinian population in Gaza, and specifically:
- the war crimes of intentionally using starvation as a method of warfare, forcible transfer, and wilful killing;
- the crime against humanity of extermination, which "includes the intentional infliction of conditions of life, inter alia, the deprivation of access to food and medicine, calculated to bring about the destruction of part of a population," and
- genocide by intentionally deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part, and through killing members of the group[8]
Johnnie Moore on X: "Today, in @Israel, I visited our Gaza Humanitarian Foundation packing & distribution center to observe & to thank all those helping us pack tens-of-thousands of food boxes for Gazans, every single day. The contents of each box exceed the average UN daily caloric guidelines. 16 million meals delivered to date!" Maybe I’ll ask – who are the monsters who count their victims’ caloric intake?
What if we not only attuned to the virulence of Evangelical zionists hastening the land grab alongside the stratum of settler schema – but also how GHF’s Board of Directors work for/with World Central Kitchen, Current Capital Partners, LLC (private equity investment), Facebook, Team Rubicon (which Jake Wood also founded, David Petraeus advises), and more? What if we scaled up, here, when considering who is to blame for this relentless atrocity? What if – we considered the "Financial Infrastructure" of GHF, as outlined in their May 8, 2025, publicly-accessible overview of operations… where they state: "GHF maintains secure banking and financial relationships with Truist Bank and JP Morgan Chase… The Swiss GHF has a verbal commitment from Goldman Sachs to establish a bank account for this affiliate which should be completed shortly." When we say we charge genocide! We also know that their only meaning of "aid" is "what are the profit margins," because held within that, is a galaxy of those guilty. We realize the enormity of culpability, we know that no shareholder knows nor values Indigenous sovereignty and that true justice means the liberation of Palestine and its people.

This brings the total number of livelihood victims arriving from areas designated for aid distribution to 274, with more than 2,532 injured Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza."
