Trump to impose 100% sanctions against Russia if ceasefire deal with Ukraine isn't reached
In the Oval Office, at an announcement with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, US President Donald Trump revealed that he will impose a 100% tariff against Russia if a ceasefire deal with Ukraine is not reached within 50 days. Trump also announced that the United States will provide Ukraine with weapons, stressing several times that Washington will not pay for them, but the Europeans will. "We're not buying it, but we will manufacture it, and they're going to be paying for it," Trump affirmed. Meanwhile, Rutte said that he has "been in contact with many countries." He listed several countries that "want to be part of this," including, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, and Canada. Rutte explained that coordination will occur through NATO systems to assess Ukraine’s needs and assemble tailored packages.
