Currency, Control, and Influence: Cuba Exposes Economic Sabotage
Cuba has denounced the US-backed digital outlet El Toque, accusing it of operating a deliberate program of economic destabilization. The platform publishes unauthorized exchange rates, engages in illegal currency operations, and receives funding from the US State Department, measures Havana says are aimed at eroding the value of the peso and fueling social unrest. Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz calls it “an actor profoundly harmful to the national economy.” El Toque claims its operations remain independent. Yet, neutrality in Cuba is impossible when funding comes from actors with a long history of meddling in the region and launching elaborate psyops.
