Venezuelan Nobel Peace Prize winner backs US strikes on own country
In an interview with British journalist Mishal Husain on The Mishal Husain Show, a Bloomberg podcast, Venezuelan opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Corina Machado indirectly admitted to supporting the US strikes on Venezuela. Moreover, Machado acknowledged that the true objective of these strikes, contrary to US claims of targeting “drug trafficking", is to overthrow Nicolas Maduro’s government, stating, “The escalation that's taking place is the only way to force Maduro to understand that it's time to go.”
