Hezbollah mourned the loss of Ziad Rahbani, one of Lebanon's most renowned and treasured artists, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 69, extending its deepest condolences to his family and admirers across the nation and the Arab world.

In a statement issued by its Media Relations Office, Hezbollah said that with Rahbani's death came the loss of a national and resistant artistic figure, who had spent a life rich in creativity, love, and dedication.

The late Ziad Rahbani, the statement noted, embodied, through his art and stances, a model of purposeful art in the service of the nation and humanity. From the stage, he painted a vision of the homeland that every person aspires to; a homeland of dignity, unity, and coexistence.

The statement further added that Rahbani has become a source of inspiration for all the free people of the world in the defense of just causes, affirming that his artistic and intellectual legacy will remain a beacon of hope for future generations, drawing from the wellspring of his art to build a free and resistant homeland.

Ziad Rahbani passed away on Saturday, at the age of 69. Born on January 1, 1956, in Antelias, Lebanon, Rahbani was the son of two legendary figures in Arab art: his father, composer Assi Rahbani, and his mother, the iconic singer Fairuz.

From a young age, Rahbani’s artistic path was shaped by his family’s deep roots in music and culture. Yet, he carved out his distinct voice, one that blended artistic innovation with political consciousness. His first literary work came at just 12 years old, marking the beginning of a prolific career that would span theater, journalism, music, and political commentary.

Legendary Lebanese artist, playwright, composer, and song artist Ziad al-Rahbani, the son of Lebanese singer #Fairuz and Mansour al-Rahbani, passed away earlier this morning.
