US Secretary of State Antony Blinken approved the sale of military equipment to "Israel," totaling over $20 billion, the Pentagon announced on Tuesday.

The approved sales include F-15IA and F-15I+ aircraft worth $18.82 billion, Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) valued at $102.5 million, 120mm tank rounds for $774.1 million, and modified M1148A1P2 medium tactical vehicles for $583.1 million.

This comes amid increased military buildup across the region following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah commander Hajj Mohsen.

Multiple US officials told CNN earlier this month that they expect Iran and its allies to retaliate in the coming days, perhaps within the next few hours. However, they struggle "to gauge when the response will come and what form it will take."

Earlier today, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Biden administration is preparing to send Saudi Arabia more than $750 million worth of bombs in the coming months.

According to the report, the shipments include $290 million worth of GBU-39 Small Diameter Bombs, which enable accurate strikes from a distance, and $468 million in Paveway IV bombs, which utilize advanced targeting systems.
