James Cameron has strongly denied the rumors of his involvement in a film about the recent OceanGate submersible implosion, which resulted in the loss of all five individuals on board.

The director and renowned deep-sea expert took to Twitter to express his outrage after The Sun published an article claiming that he was in talks to create a drama series about the doomed Titan submersible. Cameron labeled these claims as "offensive" and clarified that he is not and will never be involved in such a project.

I don’t respond to offensive rumors in the media usually, but I need to now. I’m NOT in talks about an OceanGate film, nor will I ever be.

Titan submersible: Proof of how class, wealth give value to human life

Following the implosion incident, Cameron, known for his deep-sea exploration expertise and connection to the Titanic, had previously spoken about the concerns raised by experts regarding the safety of the submersible.

He drew parallels between the Titan tragedy and the 1912 sinking of the Titanic, emphasizing the importance of heeding warnings. The Sun has not responded to requests for comment on the matter, as per media reports.

OceanGate’s submarine was lost on June 18 during an expedition to the Titanic wreckage, located about 900 miles east of Cape Cod in the North Atlantic and at a depth of approximately 13,000 feet. The victims are presumed to have died instantly when the Titan imploded under the pressure of the North Atlantic at a depth of more than two miles (almost four kilometers).

The undersea expeditions began transporting small crews of "citizen scientists" in a five-person mini-sub for $125,000 per person two years ago. Titan's voyage takes tourists near the wreckage of the Titanic for exploring the remains of the historic ship and its surrounding ecosystem.
