A Republican lawmaker proposed stamping US President Donald Trump's face on the $100 bill, effectively removing Benjamin Franklin off the largest bank note.
The legislation, introduced by Rep. Brandon Gill and co-sponsored by Rep. Troy Nehls, is titled the Golden Age Act of 2025.
A statement by Gill claimed "There has been no one who has done more to bring America into the golden age than President Trump... Featuring him on the $100 bill is a small way to honor all he will accomplish these next four years."
In a separate post on X, Gill declared "Let's make history," and attached a fabricated photo of a $100 bank note featuring Trump's face.

If approved, the legislation mandates that the Secretary of the Treasury publicly unveil the preliminary design of a $100 bill prominently displaying President Trump by December 31, 2026. Additionally, it stipulates that all $100 bills issued after December 31, 2028, must feature his image.
Wilson vs Gill
Last week, Republican lawmaker Joe Wilson announced that he was working on legislation to put Donald Trump's face on the newly formed $250 bill, which, if approved, would make him the first living US president to be featured on the currency.
According to Wilson, "Bidenflation", or inflation caused under the Biden administration, forced citizens to carry loads of money, prompting the creation of a more convenient $250 bill.
In a post on X, the lawmaker described it as the "Most valuable bill for most valuable President!"
