Iran, Brazil to launch direct shipping line
The initiative is aimed at bolstering trade ties between the two countries.
Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday that Iran and Brazil are planning to launch a direct shipping route.
According to Mehdi Zeyghami, the head of Iran's Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), Iran has selected its commercial envoy for Brazil and will be deployed to São Paulo in the near future.
Zeyghami told Tasnim that the initiative is aimed at bolstering bilateral ties and that Iran attaches great importance to its trade relations with Brazil.
He added that the TPOI is determined to partake in Brazil's specialized exhibitions.
This marks the first time Iran sent a commercial envoy to Brazil, he said, hoping that "trade and economic ties between the two countries would develop considerably."
