"Worse than anyone knows” is how a new report describes actor Jeremy Renner's situation which could take him two years to fully recover from. The actor is currently recovering from critical injuries that resulted from a New Year's accident he endured when he was run over by a heavy-duty snowplow near his Nevada home.
Renner was helping a stranded motorist by clearing snow out of the way when the incident occurred. His snowplow began rolling on its own, but when he tried to jump behind the wheel to stop it, the 6.5-ton plow ran over him and crushed his leg.
He had to be airlifted to the hospital for “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries,” per a statement from his representative, as he also had to undergo surgery and is now staying at the hospital.
A source close to Renner expressed to Radar Online that his condition is actually worse than anticipated and what was revealed. “It’s much worse than anyone knows,” the source said, adding: “Jeremy is very aware of the fact that he almost died out there.”
As a result of his injury, he suffered “extreme difficulty” breathing and heavy bleeding from his head while the right side of his chest collapsed and his upper torso crushed, according to a 911 log obtained by TMZ. The source relayed to Radar Online that the crush to his chest was "so substantial, it had to be reconstructed in surgery."
“So far, he’s had two surgeries and he will likely require more in the weeks ahead on his leg,” the source continued. “Doctors tend to space out operations to allow time for the body’s natural healing process to kick in, and that’s the case here.”
