Bollywood singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, died of a suspected heart attack on Tuesday after a concert, prompting a flood of tributes from fans, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“His songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups,” Modi tweeted.

An untimely death
Kunnath became ill while performing at a concert in Kolkata. He reportedly complained of being extremely cold after the show and wanted to return to his hotel, Times of India and other local media reported.
He was rushed from his hotel to a hospital in south Kolkata after collapsing around 10:30 pm local time, where doctors pronounced him dead, according to the newspaper.
Who is Krishnakumar Kunnath?
The versatile singer, born in Delhi in 1968, recorded songs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Bengali, among other languages.
Kunnath began his career in jingles before making his big-screen debut in the 1990s. His songs were dubbed over films as a playback singer, with the actors lip-syncing along.

Tadap Tadap Ke, Dus Bahane, Tune Maari Entriyaan, Dola Re Dola from the 2002 film Devdas and Khuda Jaane from the 2008 romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno were among his biggest hits.
He also released two studio albums, Pal in 1999 and Humsafar in 2008, and served as a judge and mentor on reality singing competitions.

Thousands of fans paid their respects on his Instagram page, where a photo of Kunnath singing in front of a roaring crowd had been posted earlier in the day with the caption: "Pulsating gig tonight at Nazrul Mancha... "I adore you all."
