Queen Elizabeth II ends historic jubilee in person
Queen Elizabeth II makes a surprise in-person appearance as she arrived on Buckingham Palace's balcony to thunderous screams from the crowd crammed below.
On Sunday, Queen Elizabeth II arrived on Buckingham Palace's balcony to thunderous screams from the crowd crammed below, capping off four days of celebrations for her historic Platinum Jubilee.
It was the 96-year-old monarch's first in-person appearance since Thursday when she was forced to miss several events owing to several mobility concerns. She was accompanied by her immediate heirs, princes Charles, William, and George.
She remained on the balcony for the singing of the national anthem, "God Save The Queen," using a walking stick for support and wearing a green suit with white gloves, waving to the people before and after to sustained cheering from those below.

The country's longest-reigning monarch made two public appearances on the balcony on Thursday, although the palace claimed she was in "some discomfort" due to her increasing difficulty walking and standing.
She backed out of a Friday thanksgiving church service and was set to miss Saturday's flat-racing highlight, The Derby, for the fourth time since 1952.
She also opted out of Saturday night's stunning "party at the palace," which featured Diana Ross, Andrea Bocelli, and Rod Stewart.
Instead, the monarch made a surprise on-screen appearance at the star-studded show, drinking tea with Britain's famed children's book and film character Paddington Bear in a hilarious pre-recorded sequence.
Her public debut came only seconds after British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran finished a day-long pageant in central London, as well as the four days of royal celebrations, with a rendition of his 2017 hit "Perfect".
