Dozens of people have fallen victim to a shooting rampage at a university in the Russian city of Perm, on Monday, RBC reported, quoting a source close to the Russian Interior Ministry.

Svetlana Petrenko, the official representative of the Russian Investigative Committee, told Sputnik that law enforcement officers have identified the suspect student and arrested him.
She said that according to reports, a student at Perm State University opened fire, resulting in at least 8 fatalities and 26 injuries, and investigations are underway to determine their identities.
In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Interior announced that the attacker was arrested and reported multiple casualties.
Videos posted on social media showed students dangling out of classroom windows before jumping to the ground below in a bid to escape. Other students and teachers hid in the classrooms halls, the University Media Office reported.
