Ottawa wedding shooting leaves 2 dead and 6 injured
The Ottawa Police's Homicide Unit says they have not found any "indication that this was a hate-motivated shooting."
The Ottawa Police Service announced that a shooting incident at a wedding in Ottawa claimed the lives of two and injured six.
In a statement, the Ottawa Police Homicide Unit announced that they "continue to investigate a shooting incident that left two men dead and injured six people ... This violence is tragic and unacceptable. It is disturbing for our entire community. Police are reaching out to community leaders to ensure the families of the victims are supported."
Moreover, the unit also underscored that the shooting occurred at a wedding and said that there was "no indication that this was a hate-motivated shooting."
It is important to note that the police so far have no suspects, and no available descriptions of the shooter, and no arrests have been made in this case.
In 2023, Canada's capital witnessed a total of 13 homicides, according to the police.
