A plane crash occurred in the US state of Tennessee on Sunday, carrying 20 people, and state and federal officials reported that some of those on board were transported to the hospital with injuries.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol posted on X that its troopers were assisting police at the scene of a plane crash on Old Shelbyville Road in central Coffee County. "Some have been airlifted to nearby hospitals. This is an active scene," the Highway Patrol said, noting that more updates will follow.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the aircraft involved was a de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter, which crashed shortly after taking off from Tullahoma Regional Airport in Tennessee at approximately 12:45 pm local time (1745 GMT) on Sunday. "Twenty people were on board. The FAA is investigating," it added.
Local media outlets indicated that the aircraft involved in the crash was typically utilized for skydiving operations.
