Several Injured in a Stabbing Attack on a Train in Germany
3 people were injured in a stabbing attack on an express train in the western state of Bavaria, and Bild newspaper claims that the alleged perpetrator is a 27-year-old man likely suffering from psychological problems.
Several people were wounded on Saturday in a knife attack on a high-speed train with about 300 passengers on board in Germany's Bavaria, local police said, adding that the alleged perpetrator has been arrested.
"According to preliminary information, several people were injured," police in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz said in a statement, assuring that "there is now no more danger."
The Bild newspaper reported that at least three people had been hurt, two of whom sustained serious injuries, but a police spokeswoman said that none of them was in danger.
The newspaper claimed that the perpetrator is a 27-year-old man of Arab origin, who is likely suffering from psychological problems.
According to the newspaper's information, the police ruled out any terrorist motives behind the attack.
Germany has been facing terrorist threats in recent years from jihadist and right-wing extremist groups.
