Victim count in Kansas City Super Bowl parade shooting rises to 22
Kansas City police confirm 21 injuries and one death after a shooting at a Super Bowl celebration parade.
During a press conference, Kansas City Missouri Police Chief Stacey Graves stated that the number of victims in the shooting at the Kansas City Super Bowl parade has risen to 22. However, the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
"Our gunshot wound total went up to 22...Right now, we're still working on a total of number of victims. This is still an active investigation," Graves said on Wednesday evening, adding "We have three people that we have detained."

Graves further noted that the motive behind the shooting is currently unknown.

As per a fire department official, eight of the victims sustained immediate life-threatening injuries, seven had injuries deemed life-threatening, and six others had minor injuries.

Earlier on Wednesday, gunfire was heard in Kansas City, Missouri, close to the location of the Super Bowl parade, resulting in multiple victims.
