'Israel' a threat to humanity: Lebanese Democratic Party chief
The Israeli occupation, according to the head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, will never let Lebanon see peace, praising the efforts of the Islamic Resistance against the occupation.
The ongoing war is not only a battle for the Resistance and displaced persons but a fight concerning all Lebanese, Lebanese Democratic Party leader Talal Arslan told Al Mayadeen on Monday.
"This war is not just a battle for the resistance and the displaced; it is a battle that affects every Lebanese," Arslan emphasized during a meeting with Al Mayadeen regarding the latest developments in Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
Referring to displaced persons in Lebanon, Arslan said, "They are our family and brothers. All Lebanese have faced crises at different times." He added, "Our stance in Mount Lebanon, as in all of Lebanon, is clear—we have acted with responsibility toward the displaced, and they are our collective responsibility to shoulder, regardless of how long this crisis may last."
Arslan also expressed gratitude to "all Arab and non-Arab countries for the aid sent to Lebanon," while condemning the Israeli occupation's "criminality and brutality," calling it "an enemy of humanity as a whole."
Existential struggle with 'Israel'
Arslan pointed out that Lebanon is currently engaged in an existential struggle with the Israeli occupation, lamenting that amid such a dire situation, "some are engaging in petty quarrels and hidden hatred without recognizing the evil that Israel harbors."
He further explained that the Lebanese model of coexistence between 18 different sects stands in stark contrast to the occupation, which, Arslan said, "will never let us live in peace."
Expressing confidence in the strength of the Lebanese resistance, Arslan declared, "I do not feel any fear for the Resistance or the battlefield because I have full trust in the structure of this Resistance."
Sayyed Nasrallah: A unique figure
Addressing the role of Hezbollah's martyr Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Arslan expressed personal sorrow, saying, "On a personal level, the loss of Sayyed Nasrallah would be painful because he is an irreplaceable figure."
"I never imagined that Sayyed Nasrallah would die a natural death; rather, I expected him to be martyred, as he always wished," he continued.
Arslan urged all Lebanese, regardless of political affiliation, to "respect the blood of the youth who are fighting against the Israeli occupation."
He criticized those who claim that the war is limited to southern Lebanon and the Bekaa region, asserting, "I fear for Lebanon as a whole, as a nation, from disintegration."
Regarding US support for "Israel", Arslan said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has a "green light from the US to carry out all his brutality and crimes." He stressed, however, that Lebanon "can only rely on the battlefield."
Israeli plots against Resistance
During a previous interview for Al Mayadeen, the former Lebanese MP said the people of the Golan have been paying a hefty price for 52 years due to the Israeli occupation.
He told Al Mayadeen that the Israeli project always focuses on turning religious sects into ethnic groups, which is completely rejected, stressing the need for the region's peoples to confront the destructive machine of the Israeli occupation.
The Israeli occupation fabricates pretexts to fight all Resistance movements in Palestine, Lebanon, and the region, he said, pointing out that the Israeli occupation has no regard for the lives of children and women.
