WashPo describes aggression on Lebanon as 'deadliest in decades'
A recent article in The Washington Post details the Israeli occupation's unprecedented air campaign against Lebanon, resulting in significant destruction, over 500 deaths, and widespread displacement.
In a newly published piece, The Washington Post underscored how the Israeli occupation's aggression on Lebanon has been "the most intense and deadly in decades."
Adopting the Israeli occupation's narrative, WashPo noted that "Israel" has launched a relentless air campaign in Lebanon over the past 10 days, by the time it was published yesterday.
Reportedly, the piece explained, this has caused widespread destruction, leveling entire residential blocks in southern Beirut, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of Lebanese. Moreover, the publication emphasized that the air campaign has also targeted the Hezbollah leadership, wherein the Israeli occupation forces assassinated several of its leadership cadres.
According to the Lebanese government, at least 1,400 people have died and 900,000 have been displaced since the aggression on Lebanon began.
80% of the strikes originated from Israel into Lebanon, with the attacks becoming increasingly deadly and indiscriminate. The majority of the killings of the more than 1,800 martyrs in Lebanon have taken place since September 20.
558 killed on September 23
Last Monday and Tuesday alone, 50 children were murdered as a result of the Israeli occupation's bombardments, a rate that the United Nations estimates is double that of child fatalities during Lebanon’s 2006 war.
On September 23, Israeli occupation airstrikes killed 558 people across Lebanon, making it the deadliest day since the country's 15-year civil war which began in 1975.
The bombardment rate on that day surpassed one strike per minute, with villages along Lebanon's southern border bearing the brunt of the attacks, The Washington Post said.
Moreover, the publication emphasized that according to a "preliminary analysis" of Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite data by Corey Scher of CUNY Graduate Center and Jamon Van Den Hoek of Oregon State University, satellite images taken between September 12 and 24 revealed "more than 500 buildings damaged across Lebanon".
It was also important to note, as reported by the Wash Po, that the intense bombardment by "Israel" commenced shortly after an attack on September 17 and 18 that detonated thousands of pagers and two-way radios claiming to target Hezbollah members throughout Lebanon.
The Israeli terrorist attack resulted in dozens of deaths and thousands of injuries among Lebanese civilians.
The war on Lebanon will continue, as proclaimed by Israeli occupation forces spokesperson Herzi Halevi, who said, "We are not stopping. We keep striking and hitting them everywhere."
'Israel's' extensive aggression continues, martyrs in Beirut
The Israeli occupation forces have relentlessly continued their aggressive campaign against Lebanon for the 11th consecutive day, launching a series of intensive raids on the southern suburbs and the capital, Beirut, at dawn Thursday.
The aggression resulted in a number of martyrs, injuries, and widespread destruction, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region. According to Lebanese sources, Israeli aircraft and naval vessels executed approximately 20 airstrikes on the Southern Suburb of Beirut during the night.
The raids targeted key strategic locations, including the Sayyed Hadi Highway, the Jamous Street intersection, a building next to Hadi Stadium, and the al-Arid Street building.
Various areas in Haret Hreik were targeted, and so were locations near the Martyr Mahmoud Q'aiq School and the Imam al-Mujtaba Complex in Saint Therese. Moreover, additional strikes were reported opposite the Jamous Street intersection, according to the National News Agency.
Additionally, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in the Southern Suburb reported that "two Israeli airstrikes specifically targeted the Chiah area at dawn."
