'Israel' agreed to negotiate 3-phase exchange deal: Israeli Media
Israeli media has reported that the occupation would end the war after the end of phase one.
Israeli KAN 11 channel reported on Saturday that "Israel" allegedly agreed to negotiate the end of the war on Gaza in a three-stage plan.
The channel's political affairs correspondent, Suleiman Maswadeh, reported that the Israeli proposal includes three phases of 42 days each.
The first phase includes the release of all female captives, including soldiers, the elderly, and the wounded. Following their release, negotiations would begin regarding a permanent ceasefire, which would last until week six of phase one or the start of the second phase.
Phase two includes the release of the Israeli male soldiers, men, settlement guards (also known as readiness groups), and the remaining injured.
Phase three includes the release of all the bodies.
KAN 11 noted that one of the main conflicts between both sides was the Israeli veto placed on the identities of the captives to be released, which is yet to be resolved.
Maswadeh claimed that "Israel" is ready to end the war as soon as phase one of its proposal is completed and would not wait for the completion of phases two and three. He further cited a political source saying that the proposal was agreed on by mediators.
Meanwhile, Israeli media also reported that War Cabinet member Benny Gantz held an emergency meeting, with the presence of the negotiations team, to discuss the next steps regarding an exchange deal.
Israeli Channel 12 affirmed that the business forum, which includes over 200 economic giants, chairmen of boards of directors, and CEOs of companies, supports a prisoner exchange deal and urges the occupation government to make a "brave decision", noting that the "return of the captives is a moral duty that should be prioritized by Israeli leadership at this time."
Captives' families demand Netanyahu accept Biden' 3-phase plan
The families of Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip demanded Saturday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accept the proposal announced by US President Joe Biden regarding a ceasefire.
The families accused the "Extremists in the government" of sacrificing the captives to prolong the war, according to Israeli Channel 12.
They called on the Israeli public to accept the deal proposed by Biden, affirming that it was "forbidden to lose this moment," and that Biden for the first time gave "real hope."
Biden laid out a new proposal that involves releasing Israeli captives in exchange for a ceasefire in Gaza on Friday.
Biden claimed that this is the most effective step toward de-escalating the ongoing war, adding, "With a ceasefire, that aid could be safely and effectively distributed to all who need it."
"As someone who's had a lifelong commitment to Israel, as the only American president who has ever gone to Israel at a time of war, as someone who just sent the US forces to directly defend Israel when it was attacked by Iran, I ask you to take a step back, think what will happen if this moment is lost," he stressed. "We can't lose this moment."
"It's time for this war to end and for the day after to begin," emphasized Biden, who is under the pressure of an election year and amid the ongoing Israeli aggression, which has persisted for eight months.
