'Israel' eyes port in Cyprus amid fears of Hezbollah attacks

Israeli media have revealed "Israel's" strategy to acquire a port in Cyprus within 60 days, creating an alternative supply route in anticipation of Hezbollah potentially targeting the port of Haifa.

Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom has disclosed "Israel's" plan to purchase a port in Cyprus within 60 days, establishing an alternative supply route in case Hezbollah targets the port of Haifa.

This development aligns with the US plan for the Gaza pier under the pretext of delivering humanitarian aid.

According to the Israeli newspaper, a delegation from the Israeli Ministry of Transportation has departed for Cyprus to review opportunities to purchase a port on the Greek side of the island in response to various security scenarios.

The newspaper detailed that Israeli estimates suggest that the plan will incur a cost of millions of dollars, mirroring what they dubbed considerable interest from the Cypriots in this preliminary stage. The plan will reportedly be presented to the Israeli Knesset and submitted for government approval.

Details indicate that "Israel" will monitor aid operations of the port in Larnaca, with security inspections entrusted to Israeli subsidiary companies. Contrary to various reports, the primary goal of purchasing the port is not to control maritime aid delivery to Gaza but to address a scenario where the port of Haifa is disrupted in the event of a "full-blown war with Hezbollah."

The newspaper also highlighted comprehensive joint preparations between ministries, aiming to ready "Israel" for a potential full-blown war from the North. In this context, the port of Larnaca becomes a crucial necessity to prevent a situation where its commercial arteries are severed and to facilitate supply during the war, the newspaper added.

Gaza port: US assigns 1,000 troops despite vows of no ground presence

The construction of a temporary port system, "aimed at expediting aid to Gaza," is expected to take around 60 days, Air Force Major General Patrick Ryder, a spokesperson for the Pentagon, said on Friday.

The said mission will require the involvement of approximately 1,000 troops, Ryder added, detailing that the extensive US military operation will include both soldiers and sailors.

However, in this grandiose US military spectacle, with soldiers and sailors in tow, the spokesperson assured that not a single troop will set foot on Gaza's shore, not even for a moment to secure the not-so-essential dock to the beach, claiming that the operations will take place offshore.

Upon becoming operational, the port system is expected to facilitate the "daily delivery of approximately 2 million meals to Gazans," claimed Ryder.

It's noteworthy that the United States has been the main ally of "Israel" in its ongoing genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza. The country which has sent billions of dollars in weapons to "Israel" since the beginning of its genocidal war against Gaza surely possesses the ability to exert pressure on the entity, calling for an immediate ceasefire and the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid.

Meanwhile, Palestinians have expressed doubt regarding the EU plan for a sea corridor and the US plan for a pier, fearing that such moves could be a prelude to an international military presence on Palestinian soil and to the expulsion of Palestinians under different pretexts.
