Israeli newspaper Maariv reported Friday that "Israel" is in advanced discussions with several African countries to secure agreements for receiving forcibly displaced people from Gaza. The effort is part of a broader Gaza ethnic cleansing plan being framed as a “voluntary migration” initiative.
According to Maariv, the talks are being conducted in full coordination with the United States.
This comes after Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu named the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s Gaza relocation plan as a new condition for ending the war on Gaza, the first time he has made such a demand publicly.
African countries express conditional willingness
Multiple African states have reportedly expressed an “initial willingness” to receive forcibly displaced Gazans. However, these countries have laid out various conditions in exchange, ranging from direct financial assistance to political backing from the US on unrelated diplomatic issues. Some of the demands were rejected by "Israel", and ongoing negotiations aim to find mutually acceptable compromises.
Earlier reports indicated that Trump's administration is reportedly advancing a controversial proposal to forcibly relocate up to one million Palestinians from the besieged Gaza Strip to Libya.
Citing sources with direct knowledge of the matter, including two individuals briefed on the plan and a former US official, the report revealed that Washington has already opened discussions with Libya's leadership regarding the potential transfer.
As part of the deal, the Trump administration is said to have offered the release of billions of dollars in frozen Libyan assets in exchange for Tripoli’s agreement to receive Palestinian refugees.
Comprehensive resettlement program proposed
The proposal allegedly includes a detailed resettlement framework to establish dedicated towns for displaced refugees.
Sources involved in drafting the initiative told Maariv that the first wave of forcibly displaced individuals would be positioned as “success ambassadors” to encourage further departures from Gaza.
According to the report, funding for the ethnic cleansing plan would be shared between "Israel", the United States, and a range of international organizations. Among these are evangelical groups that have pledged to mobilize donations and help build infrastructure to support the program.
