'Israel' incapable of going to war against Hezb.: Israeli Labor chief
The head of the Israeli Labor Party, Yair Golan, has affirmed that "Israel" is not ready and unprepared for a full-scale war against Hezbollah in the occupied north.
The head of the Israeli Labor Party, Yair Golan, warned against a full-scale war with Hezbollah in Lebanon amid "Israel's" unpreparedness.
In a radio interview, Golan said, "Israel today and after eight months of fighting, after exhausting the reserve and regular forces, is not ready to kickstart another long war in the north. This needs to be said, painfully, but this is the current situation."
"What was the point of assassinating another senior Hezbollah official when what is needed is the hostage exchange deal in the south? Because a ceasefire deal in the south would lead to a ceasefire in the north," he added.
Slamming the occupation government, Golan described it as a "destructive, disastrous government that needs to be changed."
In a related context, a top Israeli analyst, Mairav Zonszein of the International Crisis Group, said in an article published in The New York Times on Wednesday, that developments "indicate that Hezbollah is accumulating strategic gains as the situation created an astounding test for it. [Hezbollah] got the chance to meticulously study Israeli defense and intelligence systems for a long time."
She added that the Lebanese Resistance movement was "clearly looking for, and finding Israel's weak points" to penetrate its defenses and ultimately drown it in multi-directional and varying attacks.
She further stated that proceeding on the current path to escalate tit-for-tat attacks was "extremely dangerous" because the risk of the ignition of a full-scale war increases every day, even if nobody wants that. According to Mairav, this is due to "wrong Israeli calculations on the battlefield and the effectiveness of the weapons used by Hezbollah, and the longer the war of attrition with Hezbollah lasts, the more likely Israel will be drawn into a deeper conflict."
North Israeli settlers to 'weep', 'wail' over Hezbollah coming strikes
Thousands of people gathered in the southern suburb of Beirut on Wednesday to commemorate Hezbollah leader Taleb Sami Abdallah (Abu Taleb), who was martyred on the path to al-Quds in a targeted Israeli airstrike carried out by the Israeli occupation late Tuesday on Jwaya in southern Lebanon.
In a speech during the procession, the Executive Council chief of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, emphasized that the occupation entity has not learned from past experiences of the battle against Hezbollah.
"Israel persists in its folly ... believing that assassinating [Resistance] leaders would weaken [it]," he declared, pointing out that experience has shown that the Resistance only grows stronger and becomes more steadfast following the martyrdom of its leaders.
Sayyed Safieddine stressed that "Israel must understand" that Hezbollah's inevitable response will be to increase operations in support of Gaza, "both in type and quantity."
In an explicit threat against the occupation, he said, "If [Israelis] are now whimpering and groaning from what has befallen them in northern occupied Palestine, then they should prepare themselves for weeping and wailing," referring to the impact of Hezbollah's operations.
