The Israeli occupation forces fatally shot a 25-year-old Jordanian citizen, Tawfiq Aed Fawaz Hussein, in the occupied West Bank. The incident occurred at Zeita junction, north of the city of Tulkarm, on Monday, the Palestinian authorities have declared.

The Palestinian foreign ministry revealed that Hussein was shot in the leg, and the occupation forces reportedly left him to bleed inside an ambulance for over an hour and a half before he succumbed to his injuries.

While the Israeli military accused Hussein of aiding a Resistance fighter, a Palestinian security source, speaking to AFP on condition of anonymity, said the victim was from the Jordanian city of Russeifa and had come to visit relatives in the Nur Shams refugee camp near Tulkarm.

Jordan, which has been facing paramount condemnation for supporting the Israeli occupation and allowing itself to be used as a corridor to the benefit of the Israeli regime, has not yet issued an immediate comment on the incident.

The surge in violence in the West Bank has been notably heightened during the war on Gaza that erupted on October 7.

According to the Palestinian health ministry, at least 427 Palestinians have lost their lives in the West Bank due to actions by the Israeli army or settlers since the beginning of the war.

IOF human hunting

According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, there is no way to describe Israeli occupation forces' (IOF) actions other than "human hunting."

The publication reports that events last Thursday in the West Bank can only be described as such when the IOF fatally shot two Palestinian brothers.

Three West Bank brothers, who, like other Palestinians, are no longer permitted to work in the 1948 occupied territories, climbed over the separation barrier to support their families by picking plants. On their way back, IOF began firing at them.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed last week the martyrdom of Salah al-Din Suleiman al-Shawamreh (28), after succumbing to critical wounds sustained from Israeli occupation forces' gunfire in the southwest of al-Khalil, just a few hours after his brother Najm al-Din was martyred.

The Israeli occupation forces had fired live ammunition at three brothers near Beit Marsam, killing Najm al-Din (25), while Salah al-Din sustained critical injuries to the abdomen and chest, eventually leading to his martyrdom. Their brother, Nour al-Din (30), was also injured by the Israeli occupation forces' gunfire.

With the martyrdom of the al-Shawamreh brothers, the number of Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank at the hands of Israeli occupation forces and settlers since October 7, 2023, has risen to 416, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

According to the Israeli publication, the IOF could have called them out and arrested them or could have fired warning shots. They even could have ordered them to return home, but the IOF prefers to kill.

This comes as Israeli occupation forces continue their daily raids into the towns and villages of the occupied West Bank, harassing and assaulting citizens, storming their homes, and subjecting them to field interrogations, as well as detaining Palestinian youths.
