'Israel' on full alert anticipating Iran response to consulate strike
Israeli media reports heightened alert across the occupation entity over fears of a coming Iranian response to the terrorist attack on the consulate in Syria.
The Israeli media continued to highlight on Wednesday the growing fear within the occupation entity of entering into a comprehensive war in the region following the terrorist attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
An Israeli strike on resulted on the annex of the Iranian embassy in Damascus on Sunday resulted in the martyrdom of seven members of Iran's Revolution Guards Corps IRGC, including the commander of the Quds Force in Syria and Lebanon, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, and his second man General Mohammed Hadi Haj Rahimi.

Israeli Channel 13 reported that "Israel" is increasingly engaging with Iran in an open confrontation, a war inside Gaza, and a very significant escalation in Lebanon, emphasizing the need to take Iranian threats seriously.
The news outlet affirmed that, for the first time, there is a fear of direct fire from Iran targeting "Israel," citing security sources assessments that Iran is "determined to respond more than ever before."
The Israeli occupation army announced on Tuesday that it was calling reservists to bolster the air defense formations due to the heightened state of alert and as part of increased readiness.
Meanwhile, Israeli Channel 12 quoted an army spokesperson as saying that the state of alert in "Israel" had reached its peak following the attack.

Israeli Kan channel warned that the coming days would be "tense," confirming that the fear is of "a [response] in the near future."
'Commiting suicide'
This comes after a former official in the Israeli Mossad, Sima Shine, confirmed that Iran has the capability and motivation to respond to the airstrike targeting its consulate in Damascus, urging not to doubt Iran's capabilities.
Shine, who is currently the head of the Iran program at the Israeli Institute for National Security Studies told the Kan that Iran is capable of launching both missiles and drones toward "Israel" from within Iranian territory.

Commenting on Iran's response, the Russian website Dzen predicted that it would be "innovative, practical, and balanced," noting that Tehran would exploit gaps in the occupation's defense systems and weaknesses known to Iranian officials.
The website quoted experts as saying that "Israel" has crossed "all lines" and is, in fact, "committing suicide."
