Israeli security sources suggest that one of the Iranian missiles launched was composed of several smaller missiles that exploded into multiple fragments upon impact across different areas in central "Israel."
According to Israeli security officials, one of the missiles launched from Iran earlier this morning was composed of multiple smaller rockets that exploded and scattered across various locations in the Gush Dan region, as reported by Israeli military correspondent Doron Kadosh, citing two informed security sources.
The two sources, in a report aired on the Israeli Army Radio, said the explosion "scattered munitions across multiple areas, including Or Yehuda, Jaffa, and Savyon," among others. Authorities are now checking whether the missile carried multiple warheads.
Bomb disposal teams were called to the various impact sites, while the Israeli Home Front Command and Air Force launched a joint investigation into the incident.
Iran launches 14th wave as part of Op. True Promise 3
This comes after Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) carried out the 14th wave of strikes targeting strategic sites in the Israeli occupation entity as part of Operation True Promise 3 earlier on June 19. Israeli media described the attack as "the largest Iranian missile barrage on Israel in recent days."
According to Iran's official IRNA news agency, the strikes focused on precise military and intelligence targets inside "Israel".
The agency stated that the primary target of the strikes was the command and intelligence headquarters of the Israeli occupation army, located within a critical facility near Soroka Medical Center in Beer al-Sabe', resulting in severe damage to multiple buildings and vehicles, along with dozens of casualties.
On Thursday, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, declared that Iran would persist in striking Israeli occupation targets as long as the Zionist regime's aggression continues.
During a visit to an IRGC Aerospace Force base, he declared, "We have no limits whatsoever in confronting the aggression," with his remarks being reported by the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) amid a series of escalating attacks Iran has launched against the Israeli occupation entity since June 13.
