Earlier today, Hezbollah Media Relations Chief Mohammad Afif was martyred following an Israeli airstrike on a building belonging to the Baath Party in the Ras al-Nabaa area of central Beirut. The Secretary-General of the Arab Socialist Baath Party in Lebanon, Ali Hijazi, confirmed to Al Mayadeen that Afif was present in the building at the time of the attack.
In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Hijazi revealed that Afif had received threats directly on local and regional media platforms. He stated that the ongoing targeting of figures like Afif aims to "silence the voice of the Resistance both politically and across all levels, as this voice exposes [Israel]."
Hijazi emphasized that Afif was a media figure, not a combatant, noting, "He did not lead a military unit in Hezbollah; rather, he was the head of a media unit."
In southern Lebanon, the Israeli occupation continued its raids on residential areas, including an attack on the Civil Defense Center of the Islamic Health Authority in the town of Houmine al-Tahta, located in the Nabatieh district. Additionally, several people were wounded in a bombing that targeted two buildings in the center of Tyre.
According to Lebanon's official National News Agency, the Israeli raid on Carthage Street in Tyre resulted in more than 11 people being injured.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the Israeli raid on the town of al-Mari in the Hasbayya district resulted in the martyrdom of three people and the injury of a fourth. The martyrs included two two-year-old twin girls and their father.
In Bekaa, Israeli warplanes targeted a house in the town of al-Qasr in the Hermel district, near the Syrian border. The planes also broke the sound barrier, causing a loud explosion, heard in al-Qalamoun, as reported by Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Damascus.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the Israeli aggression on Lebanon has risen to 3,481 martyrs, with 14,786 wounded, according to the Ministry of Health.
