At a meeting in Damascus on Monday with Syria's Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that "Israel" will be dealt with adequately for its aggression on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

The Iranian diplomat stressed that the aggression on the consulate is undeniable proof that the regime has no regard for international law.

"We regard Syria's security as our own security," he added, noting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is nearing the end of his career.

The aggression, which occurred on April 1, claimed the lives of seven high-rank IRGC advisors. Among the martyrs was Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, who made significant contributions to the Quds Force in Lebanon and Syria.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi blamed the US and "Israel" for the aggression. However, the US dismissed the accusation, saying it had "no involvement" in the attack.

According to a recent post on X, sanctions relief was part of the discussions.

"During my trip to Oman, I met Mr. Badr Albusaidi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, and Mohammad Abdul Salam, spokesman and chief negotiator of Yemen's national salvation government. The development process of bilateral relations between Iran and  Oman and the agreements of the heads of Iran and Oman were examined," the tweet read.

"There was a discussion about the continuation of the initiative of the Sultan of Oman in line with the cancellation of sanctions. They also discussed the latest developments in the region, including the continuation of combined war crimes by the Zionists against the Palestinians and the need to take deterrent decisions," the tweet further read.
