'Israel told us to help ourselves', captive says in al-Qassam video
Concluding their series, the al-Qassam Brigades have published a video of the last Israeli captive killed last week, blaming "Israel" for his inevitable death.
The Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Resistance movement, published previously unreleased footage of Almog Sarusi, the last of the six captives found killed in Rafah, southern Gaza.
Sarusi had accused the Israeli occupation government, forces, and security apparatus of negligence and failure on October 7, revealing that the latter told settlers to "help themselves, no one will save you," during the Resistance's operation.
He further asserted that the Israeli bombings that followed aimed to kill him and the other captives, raising yet another blunt accusation that implicates "Israel" of deliberately killing its captives to avoid negotiations.
Sarusi also described "Israel's" so-called Operation Hostage Rescue amid its ground incursion as "failed and deceptive", affirming that it was going to lead to his death.
The killed captive urged the Israeli audience to protest and press the occupation for his release, demanding the Israeli government to return captives "without a single hair falling off their heads."

On Thursday, al-Qassam published a video of Hersh Goldberg Polin, a US-Israeli captive, addressing US President Joe Biden, State Secretary Antony Blinken, and all American citizens in a message demanding that they exert all their efforts to end the war on Gaza and return him home immediately.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Brigades also released video footage of two Israeli captives, Carmel Gat and Alexander Lobanov, who addressed the Israeli government and settlers, before dying last week.
Lobanov said al-Qassam fighters guarding him since October 7, 2023, had transferred him to several different locations to protect him from indiscriminate Israeli bombing and shelling.
"They transferred me 10 times to save my life," the Israeli captive said.
Israeli airstrikes and direct friendly fire had killed multiple Israeli settlers previously.
Lobanov also criticized Netanyahu for failing to "protect" him and others on October 7, adding, "And now you continue to fail in every attempt to release us alive."
"You are just trying to kill us to avoid completing a deal," the settler said.

On Tuesday, al-Qassam's Military Media Unit released footage taken of Ori Danino who was among those announced dead on Sunday.
In a direct message to Netanyahu and the Israeli war cabinet, Danino said, "You failed on October 7. You failed in your mission to protect us, the citizens."
"Today you are trying to kill us one after the other in failed rescue attempts," Danino had said before his death.

On Monday, Idan Yurshamli was shown in a video addressing Benjamin Netanyahu and calling for the immediate end of the war so she could return home.
In the same video, al-Qassam spokesperson Abu Obeida said that Palestinian Resistance fighters have been given new instructions on how to "deal with" captives if Israeli occupation forces approach their place of detention in Gaza.
"We [announce this decision] to everyone, clearly and explicitly," Abu Ubeida said.
He emphasized that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the occupation army bear full responsibility for the deaths of prisoners, having deliberately obstructed any prisoner exchange deal for narrow interests, and intentionally killing dozens of captives through direct airstrikes.
"It was made clear that Netanyahu’s insistence on freeing the prisoners through military pressure, rather than negotiating a deal, could result in their (captives) return to their families in coffins, leaving the families to choose between receiving them dead or alive," the spokesperson concluded.
