'The free will never submit to arrogance': Pezeshkian
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visits the Hamas office in Tehran to express condolences for the martyrdom of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visited Hamas' office in Tehran this morning to extend his condolences following the martyrdom of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
During the visit, Pezeshkian met with Khaled Qaddoumi, Hamas's representative in Iran, and engaged in a dialogue with him.
Following his expression of condolences for Yahya Sinwar's martyrdom, the Iranian President delivered a pointed critique of governments and powers that advocate for human rights, democracy, and international laws. He argued that those who promote these ideals are often the same entities that violate them, particularly in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian struggle.
He emphasized that the United States and the West support "Israel" and supply it with weapons to commit brutal crimes against humanity while the world stands idle.
In this context, the Iranian President asserted that recent global events illustrate a trend where "forces of arrogance" are pursuing authoritarianism. He emphasized that free people will resist such impositions and will not yield to oppression. Pezeshkian further underscored that the ongoing war transcends the martyrdom of individual figures, framing it as a broader struggle for justice and the protection of human rights.
Commenting on how Iran would respond to a potential Israeli attack, he affirmed, "We will respond decisively to any Israeli attack in an appropriate and proportionate way."
It is important to highlight that memorial ceremonies honoring the martyr Yahya Sinwar will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Hamas office in Tehran.

Iranian official: War expansion likely, prepared for all scenarios
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared on Tuesday that while "Iran does not want war in the region, it is fully prepared for such an eventuality and ready to respond to any other scenario."
In a statement from Kuwait, Araghchi stressed that Iran would take appropriate action in response to any Israeli aggression on the country.
Araghchi noted that the likelihood of the war expanding is significant, which could potentially result in a full-blown regional war.
He asserted that "Israel" aims to escalate the war in the region, and it is imperative for Iran to confront this looming catastrophe.
Additionally, Araghchi highlighted the catastrophic situation in Gaza and Lebanon, stressing the urgent need to halt Israeli attacks. He reaffirmed that Iran remains committed to its policy of good neighborliness, emphasizing the importance of fostering strong relationships in the region while advocating for the protection of affected populations.
