'Worrying, unprecedented': Israeli media on Sayyed Nasrallah's speech
Israeli media say it is no coincidence that for the first time since the beginning of the war, Sayyed Nasrallah makes such a threat to expand the war.
For the first time since the beginning of the war, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah issued a threat to expand the fighting on the northern front, Israeli media reported, commenting on the Lebanese Resistance leader's speech on Wednesday.
The media described Sayyed Nasrallah's threat on Wednesday to stretch the fighting in northern occupied Palestine as "worrying and unprecedented" since October 7, 2023.
Ohad Hemo, the Arab Affairs correspondent for the Israeli Channel 12, noted a "consistency" between Sayyed Nasrallah's threats and Hezbollah's actions, adding that it is evident for "Israel" from past experiences that Sayyed Nasrallah turns threats into actions.
He also pointed out that Sayyed Nasrallah linked the fronts in Gaza and Lebanon, noting that "this is not new, but it is certainly very concerning, especially with the assumption that the fighting in Gaza will continue."
Hemo emphasized that while Sayyed Nasrallah declared since day one that the issue of "Israel" harming civilians is a "red line", his threat to expand the scope of the fighting "is entirely different."
The Channel 12's Arab Affairs correspondent considered that Sayyed Nasrallah chooses his words carefully, noting that it is no coincidence that for the first time since the beginning of the war, he issues such a threat to expand the war.
In a related context, the Israeli Channel 13 pointed out that Hezbollah's Secretary-General is aware of everything said in the Israeli press and society and follows Israeli media reports.
The media outlet highlighted that the heads of the so-called local authorities in northern occupied Palestine say, "The Prime Minister of the North is [Sayyed] Hassan Nasrallah, and he is informed of the latest developments."
Earlier on Wednesday, Sayyed Nasrallah made it clear during his address commemorating the 10th of Muharram, the anniversary of Ashura, that the Resistance will not cease operations on the Lebanese front as long as the Israeli aggression on Gaza continues.
He stressed that for the first time, the Israeli occupation has acknowledged a shortage of tanks due to damage sustained on the battlefronts in Gaza and the North.
The Lebanese Resistance leader threatened the occupation, saying, "If your [Israeli] tanks come to Lebanon and South Lebanon, you will not have a shortage of tanks, as you will no longer have any tanks left."
He also warned that if "Israel" continues to target civilians, the Resistance will launch rockets and target new settlements that had not been targeted before.
