No prospect for disarming Hezbollah: Israeli media
The Israeli Channel 14's military affairs correspondent says the situation in northern occupied Palestine "is simply war," without being named as such and without an official declaration.
The situation in the north is "untenable", Israeli Channel 14 reported, highlighting that around 7,000 rockets have fallen on Israeli settlements in northern occupied Palestine, in addition to hundreds of anti-tank missiles and drones.
Hallel Biton Rosen, Channel 14's military affairs correspondent, pointed out that the situation in the North "is simply war," without being named as such and without an official declaration.
Rosen suggested that there is no prospect for Israelis returning to northern settlements, restoring Israeli deterrence, or pushing Hezbollah away from the border or disarming it, stressing that current discussions about red lines are simply "empty talk" in light of all this.
This comes after Hezbollah pounded the Israeli Sa'ar and the Gesher HaZiv settlements in northern occupied Palestine with tens of Grad-type rockets during the early morning hours of Wednesday.
The Lebanese Resistance group said the operation came in support of the Palestinian people and their brave Resistance and in response to the horrific massacre committed by the Israeli occupation in the southern Lebanese village of Umm al-Tout, which killed three children, on Tuesday.
Israeli media reported on the operations, noting that this would be the second time in the same night by which Hezbollah launched barrages of rockets toward the North after the Resistance group carried out four earlier attacks in response to the Israeli assaults on southern Lebanese villages.
The media described the ambiance as "uncalm" across the northern settlements, with sirens "unusually" sounding in Nahariya and its surrounding settlements since 2:32 am.
Earlier on Wednesday, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed during his address commemorating the 10th of Muharram, the anniversary of Ashura, that the Resistance will not cease operations on the Lebanese front as long as the Israeli aggression on Gaza continues.
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that for the first time, the Israeli occupation has acknowledged a shortage of tanks due to damage sustained on the battlefronts in Gaza and the North.
The Lebanese Resistance leader threatened the occupation, saying, "If your [Israeli] tanks come to Lebanon and South Lebanon, you will not have a shortage of tanks, as you will no longer have any tanks left."
He also warned that if "Israel" continues to target civilians, the Resistance will launch rockets and target new settlements that had not been targeted before.
