Ryabkov: The United States ignored our messages about cyberattacks.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated that Moscow has sent more than 40 messages to the United States about cyberattacks on state structures and institutions in Russia but has not received any response.
He revealed that cyberattacks were addressed at the summit, bringing together Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Joe Biden in Geneva, where a cyberattack using Internet capabilities on the health care system in the Russian region of Voronezh was specifically addressed, adding that the Americans are not responding to Russia's calls.
Ryabkov called this an "unacceptable" approach, saying that the United States believes for some reason that we must respond to all their allegations. Still, they do not react to our demands, noting that this approach will not progress in bilateral relations.
The New York Times had previously reported that the United States intends to carry out several cyberattacks on Russian websites linked to the Russian authorities in the coming weeks.
The Russian embassy in the United States confirmed that the US media's attempts to accuse Russia of launching cyberattacks on US government agencies were "unfounded."
