Lavrov: The West will strive to incite protests before Russian elections
Lavrov claimed that the West will spare no effort to destabilize the country by inciting protests before the coming parliamentary elections scheduled for September.
On Thursday, Lavrov hinted, "we must assume that prior to the coming elections, there will be attempts to create unrest and instability within the country through means of protest, possibly violent ones, the way the West always acts."
He added, "The West will strive to delegitimize the results of the elections", but "these scenarios are doomed to failure."
It is worth mentioning that the Russian legislative elections will take place as scheduled, in the coming September.
Earlier, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolay Patrushevhas had claimed that there had been foreign attempts at creating civil unrest in the country before the parliamentary elections, highlighting the importance of rejecting any foreign attempts to harm the national interest and the rights of the Russian people.
