Raisi to Haniyeh, al-Nakhala: Iran Is Committed to Defending Palestine and Its People
In a phone call with "Hamas" Political Bureau Chief and Secretary-General of the "Islamic Jihad Movement," the Iranian President-elect Ibrahim Raisi confirms that Iran will pursue its commitment to defending all of Palestine.
In a telephone conversation with Iranian President-elect Ibrahim Raisi, Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh congratulated him on winning the elections and thanked Iran once again for its continuous support for the Palestinian cause.
Haniyeh emphasized that the relationship between Hamas and Iran stands strong, evaluating the battle of "The Sword of Jerusalem" (Seif al-Quds) and the achieved victory of the Resistance and the Palestinian people.
Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziad al-Nakhala, also congratulated the Iranian president on his victory in the recent elections, wishing Raisi "success in his presidential term." He also thanked Raisi for "supporting the Palestinian people and the Resistance."
For his part, the President-elect confirmed to Haniyeh and Nakhaleh that "Iran is committed to defending Palestine, and its support of the Palestinian people will stand until the liberation of occupied Jerusalem."
In his call with Haniyeh and al-Nakhala, Raisi commended, once again, "The great victory achieved in the Battle of Seif al-Quds," and said that the battle "has opened a new page for the Resistance in the face of the occupiers and has proven that the Resistance is a vital strategic choice in the course of the Palestinian cause."
Raisi also condemned the continuation of the siege on Gaza, stressing that this blockade goes against the regulations of international law and that this siege must end.
Following the election of Raisi as president on June 19, several Palestinian factions congratulated him on his election and praised "the great Iranian role in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and the Resistance."
