Iranian Media: Ship that Caught Fire in Latakia is Not Iranian
The Iranian "Nour News" website reports that ship that caught fire during repairs in the port of Latakia, is a Syrian ship.
The Iranian website NOUR NEWS, reported: "Some media outlets claimed, after a fire broke out in one of the Syrian ships in the port of Latakia, that this was an Iranian ship targeted by the Zionist entity."
The site continued, "This ship is not Iranian, rather Syrian, and was empty. A fire broke out during the repair operations on the ship."
Earlier today, members of the Latakia Fire Brigade and the Latakia Port Company's Civil Defense Department extinguished a fire that broke out in a ship during a port maintenance routine.
Several workers suffered shortness of breath due to the fire, which caused them to be transferred to the hospital for treatment, according to the director-general of the port company, Amjad Suleiman, who explained in a statement to SANA that "the workers were discharged from the hospital after they were provided with oxygen and given required emergency care."
Suleiman also confirmed that the ship was empty and that the port of Latakia had been emptied for maintenance. A small fire broke out during the maintenance operations, but it was quickly extinguished by the ship's crew, the company's Civil Defense Department, and the Latakia Fire Brigade.
