A Syrian security source reported that 20 soldiers were killed and 10 were wounded in an ambush targeting a bus carrying members of the Syrian Arab Army in Syria's Deir Ezzor.

The source further explained that "ISIS militants carried out an ambush targeting a military bus on the T2 road in Badia Al-Mayadeen in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor."

Earlier this month, ISIS announced in an undated recording on Telegram the death of its leader, Abu Al-Hussein Al-Husseini Al-Qurashi, during clashes in Idlib, in northwestern Syria.

The leader was reportedly killed in clashes with HTS, an Al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group based in Idlib.

The spokesperson added that Abu Hafs Al-Hashimi Al-Quraishi would be succeeding the slain leader as the new ISIS chief, marking the group's fifth leader.

Militant groups in Syria to transfer militants to border with Jordan

Media outlets close to the militant groups in northwestern Syria revealed, on August 9, that armed factions affiliated with the Turkish-backed "Syrian National Army", in the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo, began registering the names of some of its members to transfer them to the Al-Tanf area on the Syrian-Jordanian border.

The media mentioned that the registration process takes place via the leaders of the militant groups, noting that registration "is open to all factions, components, and even civilians."

It cited sources that the matter is being coordinated between the leadership of the "Syrian Free Army" and the components of the "Syrian National Army."

This comes as the US-led International Coalition forces have intensified military training and maneuvers during the past few days, some of which used live ammunition, within the 55 km area, at the Syrian-Iraqi-Jordanian border triangle.
