Syria vehemently denied any sort of talks or communication with Turkey, especially in terms of combating terrorism.

In light of the Turkish Foreign Minister's statements that there are direct negotiations with Syria on issues related to security and terrorism, an official source in the Syrian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that the Syrian Arab Republic vehemently denies any talks or negotiations with the Turkish regime, especially in terms of combating terrorism.

He also added that everyone now knows that Turkey's ruling regime is the main sponsor of terrorism, and has turned Turkey into a reservoir for terrorism and extremism, which threatens peace and stability in the region and the world, adding that Turkey is in blatant violation of international laws on combating terrorism.

In an interview for the Turkish NTV, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu had stated that there are ongoing talks with Damascus on matters related to security and combating terrorism, but no direct political negotiations.
