The Israeli occupation army acknowledged on Tuesday the deaths of three soldiers holding the rank of First Sergeant in northern Gaza, where the Palestinian Resistance continues its operations and ambushes.
According to Israeli Channel 12, the three soldiers were killed in an explosion caused by an explosive device in Jabalia on Monday. The report added that the evacuation process lasted for an extended period and was accompanied by a battle in which several other Israeli soldiers were injured.
Kan channel released additional details of the Resistance operation that led to the deaths of the three soldiers.
The incident reportedly took place in the morning when soldiers from the Rotem reconnaissance company of the Givati Brigade were escorting an assault unit into a neighborhood in Jabalia. The mission was allegedly aimed at extinguishing a Namer armored vehicle that had caught fire due to a "technical malfunction."
As the forces withdrew from Gaza, a convoy of military vehicles arrived at the scene, where one of the vehicles was directly hit. The explosion's force resulted in the immediate death of three soldiers and the injury of two others, who were airlifted to a hospital.
Additional Israeli military vehicles in the convoy were also damaged in the blast, according to the report.
'Area of Explosives': Resistance rigged the route
Channel 12 emphasized that the Israeli military recognized the area as an "explosives-ridden zone." Military sources indicated that at least 20 explosive devices were likely planted along the path of the Israeli forces in Jabalia.
Following the attack, the occupation army launched an investigation over concerns that Palestinian Resistance fighters may have identified the route of the forces in the morning and rigged it with explosives later in the day, anticipating the movement of another military convoy.
This comes amid a series of ambushes carried out by Resistance fighters across Gaza. On Monday, the al-Qassam Brigades announced that its fighters had targeted an Israeli D9 military bulldozer with a Yassin-105 anti-armor RPG in the southern Gaza Strip.
The operation took place on Sunday in the area of Qizan al-Najjar, south of Khan Younis, amid an ongoing series of ambushes and confrontations against the Israeli occupation forces inside the besieged territory.
