40 Palestinians killed in overnight Israeli bombing on Khan Younis
An overnight Israeli aggression on Gaza's Khan Younis claims the lives of 40 people.
More than 40 Palestinians have been killed in the past 24 hours due to Israeli airstrikes on the southern city of Khan Younis, an Al Mayadeen correspondent in the Gaza Strip reported Thursday.
Israeli warplanes conducted two air raids on the town of al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis, while Israeli artillery targeted a location near the Bani Suheila roundabout east of the city.
Medical sources reported that four Palestinians were killed and several others were injured, including women and children, following Israeli bombardment in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City.
Moreover, it was reported that the Israeli forces besieged a house with 10 Palestinians inside, including women and children, amid heavy bombardment in the area.
Several residents were also wounded by an airstrike on an apartment belonging to the Abu Jiab family in the al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.
Israeli airstrikes targeted a house in al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza belonging to the Abu Gharqoud family near the camp's entrance, injuring seven Palestinians, most of whom were children.
Israeli tanks fired machine guns at civilian homes in the eastern areas of the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
In Rafah, Israeli forces destroyed additional residential blocks in the al-Shabora camp in the city center. Israeli artillery also targeted northern and western areas of the city, while the air force carried out two airstrikes on Gaza City.
The death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 39,175, with 90,403 injured, the majority of whom are children and women, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7. Thousands of victims remain under the rubble.
Resistance confronts Israeli forces
Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades said Wednesday that its fighters fired a locally-produced tandem rocket-propelled grenade al-Yassin, (RPG) at an Israeli military-grade D9 bulldozer in eastern Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Another group of fighters shelled occupation forces in Juhr al-Dik just north of the central Gaza Strip, using mortar shells.
Also, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's (PIJ) al-Quds Brigades conducted a joint mortar attack with the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine's (DFLP) National Resistance Brigades. The two Resistance factions fired large-caliber mortar shells at Israeli occupation forces in the strategic Netzarim Axis.
Similarly, al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades also extensively shelled occupation forces in the same axis on Tuesday.
The National Resistance Brigades also operated their mortar units in the southernmost city of the Gaza Strip, Rafah, shelling occupation forces in Tal al-Sultan.
The Resistance continued to confront occupation forces that invaded the city of Khan Younis after a months-long withdrawal from the district.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported on sounds of confrontations in the area, which has seen relative quiet in the past weeks.
