Abbas meets Gantz at the latter's house
Israeli media reports about Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Security Minister Benny Gantz's meeting.
The head of the Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs, Minister Hussein Al-Sheikh, said Tuesday that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with Israeli occupation Security Minister Benny Gantz.
According to Haaretz, Al-Sheikh stressed that the meeting touched on "the importance of having a political horizon for achieving a solution based on the decisions of the international community," as well as "issues of economic and humanitarian concern and the tensions in the West Bank such as confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli settlers."
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that the meeting between Abbas and Gantz took place at the latter's house and lasted two and a half hours.
For its part, Israeli media mentioned that Gantz affirmed to Abbas "the common interest in strengthening security coordination and maintaining security and stability."
It is noteworthy that this is the second meeting between the two, following a meeting that took place in Ramallah in August.
