Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed with the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, the French Foreign Minister, and the British National Security Advisor ways to de-escalate tensions between "Israel" and Iran, exploring possible measures to prevent further escalation in the region.
Abdelatty discussed with Kallas Middle East developments and ways to reduce tensions between "Israel" and Iran. Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tamer Khalaf stated that "Minister Abdelatty briefed the EU official on Egypt's intensive efforts to promote security and stability in the region amid the significant challenges currently facing the area."
They also discussed "Egypt's efforts to de-escalate tensions, secure a ceasefire, and return to the negotiation track as the only way to reach a sustainable agreement on Iran's nuclear program and prevent the risk of a full-scale regional conflict."
Abdelatty also stressed the importance of “Egypt’s joint efforts with Qatar and the United States to restore a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensure humanitarian aid reaches those in need," urging “the European Union to provide critical support to address Gaza’s worsening humanitarian catastrophe, exacerbated by Israel’s deliberate blockade and starvation policies.”
In the same context, he stressed the necessity of "working toward a political horizon for the Palestinian issue and establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the two-state solution, as it is the only path to achieving stability in the region."

Moreover, the Egyptian Foreign Minister spoke by phone with both French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and UK National Security Advisor Jonathan Powell, where the parties discussed their perspectives on the region’s escalating developments and shared their analyses of the fast-evolving situation.
Abdelatty stressed to France's foreign minister that "coordinated regional and global action is urgently needed to reduce tensions and contain this crisis before it spreads wider," cautioning that "continued military escalation would have devastating impacts on the entire region's security and stability."
He stated that “there is no alternative to political and diplomatic solutions to de-escalate tensions, secure a ceasefire, and resume negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program,” while stressing that “the current military escalation must not divert attention from the catastrophic humanitarian situations in both Gaza and the West Bank.”
In his discussion with the UK National Security Advisor, Egypt's foreign minister detailed Cairo's de-escalation efforts and emphasized containing the Israeli war on Iran, urging the E3 group to pursue all diplomatic channels with Iran to negotiate compromises that could ease tensions.
