The spokesman for Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini, warned on Thursday that the enemy must not repeat its mistakes, stressing that any new aggression would face a "broader, more destructive, and more decisive" response.
Speaking on the occasion of Sacred Defense Week, the annual commemoration of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War, Naeini confirmed that the IRGC had targeted and destroyed 26 strategic sites during the Twelve-Day War. "We destroyed them completely," he declared, underscoring the scale of Iran's military response.
Strategic targets hit during OTP 3
During Operation True Promise 3 (OTP 3), Iran launched over 530 missiles in 21 waves against strategic Israeli military, intelligence, and infrastructure targets across occupied Palestine.
The strikes severely damaged the Israeli Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman) in Tel Aviv as well as Mossad’s headquarters in Glilot, where missiles landed near the agency’s main complex. HaKirya, the military command headquarters in Tel Aviv adjacent to the Security Ministry, was also hit in the operation.
In the south, Nevatim Air Base in al-Naqab, home to the 140 Squadron and Strategic Air Command, sustained heavy damage, with satellite imagery confirming impacts on hangars and runways. Tel Nof Air Base, located south of Tel Aviv, was also struck, while in the North, the Meron Air Traffic Control Base, which oversees operations toward Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and Cyprus, came under Iranian fire.
Iran also targeted key research and infrastructure facilities. The Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot was struck, destroying two research centers and more than 50 laboratories in what was described as catastrophic damage worth up to $100 million.
In Haifa, Iran’s missiles crippled the largest oil refinery in occupied Palestine, forcing a complete shutdown of operations and inflicting an estimated $200 million in damage. Additional strikes damaged pipelines, water networks in Tel Aviv, and power infrastructure, sparking widespread fires and outages.
Iranian leader on Jihad
In an address on Thursday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, said that this year’s Sacred Defense Week carries added weight due to the martyrdom of several prominent figures in the path of Islamic resistance.
Sayyed Khamenei stressed that "martyrdom is the reward of jihad, whether in the eight-year defense, in the heroic battle that lasted 12 days, or in Lebanon, Gaza, and Palestine."
The Iranian leader further highlighted that "nations flourish through this jihad and shine through these sacrifices." He emphasized that the most important duty is to "have firm faith in God's promise of the victory of truth and the downfall of falsehood, while fulfilling our responsibility in supporting God's religion."
In a related statement, the spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Reza Talaei, announced on Thursday that the ministry had increased its production by 58% over the past year, reflecting what officials describe as growing self-reliance in the country’s defense sector.
