The United States' "foolish plans" for Gaza and Palestine "will lead nowhere" and are doomed to fail, underlined the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday.
Sayyed Khamenei was referring to a proposal floated by US President Donald Trump to "take over" Gaza after forcibly displacing its more than two million residents—a plan that has been widely rejected internationally and regionally.
During a meeting in Tehran with Ziyad al-Nakhalah, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement, and his accompanying delegation, Sayyed Khamenei extended his congratulations to the Palestinian Resistance on its victory against "Israel" in Gaza, where the occupying regime was compelled to agree to a ceasefire with Hamas after failing to dismantle the Resistance groups—one of the primary objectives of its war on the Strip.
“The remarkable work of the leaders and fighters of the Palestinian Resistance in maintaining unity and solidarity while standing firm against the enemy and advancing the complex process of negotiations, as well as the patience and resilience of the people, have brought honor to the Resistance in the region,” he said.
The Iranian leader emphasized that this victory has established "a new benchmark" in the struggle against the occupying regime.
Sayyed Khamenei noted that "Israel" is now engaged in negotiations to secure the release of its captives held in Gaza in exchange for a significantly larger number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees—despite having vowed to eliminate the very Resistance groups it is now negotiating with.
"Those who claimed a year and a half ago that they would destroy the Resistance in a short matter of time are now receiving their captives back in small groups from the Resistance fighters, while simultaneously releasing a substantial number of Palestinian captives in exchange," he said.
He indicated that "global public opinion is in favor of Palestine now, and under these circumstances, no plan will be successful without the consent of the Resistance and the people of Gaza."
On his part, al-Nakhalah congratulated Sayyed Khamenei on the Palestinian victory and expressed appreciation for the Islamic Republic's unwavering support for the Resistance.
"The Palestinian Resistance has, in fact, been at war with the United States and the West for the past year and a half,” the PIJ chief said, asserting that “despite the imbalance of power, the Palestinian Resistance has succeeded in securing substantial victories.”
Al-Nakhalah highlighted the "unity and cohesion" of Palestinian and Lebanese Resistance groups—both on the battlefield and politically—as a crucial factor in Gaza’s victory.
He also provided an update on the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the ongoing negotiations and agreements.
"We will never forget the path of the Resistance, and as soldiers of the Resistance, we will continue on this path," al-Nakhalah underscored.
