Active phase of Vienna Talks can resume in a week: Russian Diplomat
Russian diplomat says that there is currently a pause in the Vienna Talks, stressing that there are a number of issues that need to be resolved.
Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan said, on Monday, that the active negotiation process on the restoration of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) can resume in a week following the commemoration of the Iranian New year.
The diplomat stated that there is currently a pause in the negotiations, noting that there are a number of issues that need to be resolved.
In response to media reports that Moscow is allegedly stifling the process, he said that Russia has nothing to do with it.
“The pause is also due to the fact that yesterday, it was the first day of the New Year 1401 on the occasion of the spring holiday in Iran, state institutions do not work here for a week, but nevertheless, immediately after that, I think, the negotiation process ... will resume," he added.
Tehran is looking for a good, reliable, and sustainable nuclear agreement through the Vienna talks, Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has recently said.
"The Iranian red lanes are not a waste of time," he added.
Earlier, Abdollahian has also criticized the US for complicating the Vienna talks with new issues.
