Adnan transferred to non-military hospital as condition deteriorates
Palestinian prisoner Sheikh Khader Adnan continues his open hunger strike for the 79th day, in rejection of his arbitrary detention by Israeli occupation forces.
The Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation confirmed on Monday that the health condition of Palestinian hunger-striking prisoner Sheikh Khader Adnan deteriorated.
Adnan continues his open hunger strike for the 79th day in a row, in rejection of his arbitrary detention by Israeli occupation forces.
The foundation pointed out that the administration of the "Ramleh" prison clinic transferred Adnan urgently to a non-military hospital in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948, adding that until this moment, no information has been received about the prisoner's health condition.
On Sunday, the "Salem" Military Court of "Israel" rejected a request to release Adnan on bail, despite his deteriorating health condition. Muhjat Al-Quds said the prisoner passed out twice during his court hearing, as he is critically ill.

The Foundation confirmed that Adnan's wife, who was also present at the Israeli court, collapsed and fainted after realizing just how severe her husband's current condition is and was transferred to a hospital for treatment.
Muhjat Al-Quds held "the Israeli occupation government fully responsible for" prisoner Adnan's fate, underlining that "the alleged court's decision (of not releasing Adnan) equates to a death sentence for the prisoner."
A few days ago, Adnan's family announced an open sit-in in front of Al-Manara Square in the center of Ramallah to protest the prisoner's arbitrary administrative detention.
Adnan's wife previously told Al Mayadeen that the Palestinian prisoner is determined to prolong his strike until he is freed from custody, even if this costs him his life.
On Saturday, the spokesperson for the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, Hassan Abed Rabbo, underlined that the hunger-striking prisoner suffers from severe pain and an extremely deteriorated health condition.
In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Abed Rabbo warned that there is a real fear that Adnan will be martyred, pointing out that the Israeli occupation is still denying the prisoner's family rightful visits.
Adnan is a spirited revolutionary who has long struggled against the occupation as a leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. He was arrested 12 times and spent a total of about eight years in occupation detention centers, most of which he spent under administrative detention. During these years, he went through five previous hunger strikes.
